Crucial Corkscrew sighting
on: August 02, 2015, 04:26:07 AM
My youngest and I were cruising through the local sporting goods store earlier this evening and spotted a couple of these in the display case. After a little thought I seemed to remember discussing them here on MTO before. But after doing some online searches, they seem to be kind of rare. Does anyone know the story behind them? Is there a story, or am I just ignorant as to there distribution? Lol

Not Gerber related but they also had Switchplier 2s! I wanted to pull the trigger so bad!

They are kind of rare. It was the last one I could get my paws on in the series. Well, Gerber has 4 variants that I know of. Take a gander at this thread...

Thanks Chako, that IS the thread I remembered it from.

I guess it is sort of a rare bird

Could be. Mind you, for all I know, there could be a few places in the States that you could stand waist deep in them.  :D

That was one of my first MT aquisitions after discovering this site. I think I got it from another member and carried it for a while. Found it to be a bit too thick and the corkscrew metal seemed too soft.

It's an interesting MT though when you figure in the OHO blade and the way the opener becomes the rest of the corkscrew handle.
