I have used a Ontario SP-8 square nose machete and liked it, dad has it now for his truck knife and I'm rocking a RTAK still though thinking of getting something more in tune to clearing brush etc like we have in the midwest, lot of green hard woods etc.
Saw the Buck Compadre and though its pricey I like the design, forward weight like a khukri it looks like but with a square nose. Nice long handle and lots of working edge it looks like, straight too so its easier to sharpen than my khukris I imagine.
Thinking really hard about getting a Buck Compadre over a SP-8 which is half the price to take the place of my RTAK in the truck.....any thoughts. Would really like to stick with the blunt nose knife design.
