Some Questions on the GERBER SHARD
on: August 27, 2015, 05:39:35 PM
For those of you who have any substantial experience with it, I would like to pose a few questions about the GERBER SHARD.

1. Is it true that the Philips driver can be used as a box cutter in a comfortable way?

2. Can wire really be stripped with the V-shaped pry bar?

3. Does someone have any experience with using the bottle opener as a wrench?

4. Can the indentations on both sides be put to any real use?

Thanks for your eventual enlightening comments!    :)

I found the Phillips on the Shard to be inadequate for most screws. As for your other questions, I can't help but the Shard is a pretty neat one-piece.

Thanks.

Some of those questions came to me after watching a few YouTube videos, in which quite a lot was said but nothing much was actually demonstrated as to the alternative uses of the tools.

The Shard is a pretty terrific pry tool, small as it is.  I'd imagine anyone who has broken a blade tip would have loved one.  The flat part ( pry tip ) is a better box opener.  The phillips in my experience is good enough and is best used on deeper/larger phillips screws.  I have not used the bottle opener for anything.

Thanks for your advise on the use of the flat and Philips drivers, Aloha.

I'll keep it mind.    :)
