Maglite Solitaire LED question.
on:
August 29, 2015, 06:11:02 PM
Can the LED module from the newer Solitaire's drop into the older incandescent models with little or no modding? I'm wondering cause I have an older Solitaire in a discontinued anodized Orange finish which I absolutely love. (always hated it's output though)
I know I could go with a drop in LED, but they cost as much as the newer Solitaire LED and aren't as powerful.

I've only tried to exchange body/head between the two and one of the versions worked more or less, but the other one did not
How are your LEDs, btw, guys? My LED Solitaire was extremely unreliable and flickery and I ended up using it as a waterproof pill container eventually. The worst money spent ever.

Mine works fine. Low battery power will cause the flickering. A fresh battery should sort it out.

Nnnnnnno - if you shake the light slightly it does it again. If you keep the light on and put it on the floor to tailstand, it does it, it's just something wrong somewhere inside. I had videos on it before, but deleted my channel.

Guys, Maglite is very good about all this. They will answer your questions about R & R, and fix intermittent lights, I have the same flickering problem as you do in a diode light, and I haven't gotten down to Ontario to get it fixed. They are very good about repair or replacement. Thanx Oclip
