The pocket size MT saw tests are all finished yesterday.  The data shown quite interesting trends, and I'm surprised how different is user experience vs preconception myself.

Testings will soon move onto the Mid size MT saw, which includes the following candidates:
Gerber Flik
SOG Pocket PowerPliers
Leatherman Wave
Leatherman Wave BO
Leatherman sidekick
Leatherman rebel
Victorinox 111mm Trekker
Victorinox 111mm Outrider
Victorinox 108mm Mauser
Victorinox Spirit

Many short plus a summary.  :tu:

Hey, Zoidberg.

Sorry for making it confusing, I re-write what I have, so do you still stick to 'many shorts + 1 summary"?  :D

Say I was looking for the info:

I would like to see the summary first - what tools worked better.

Then I would look at the tests in order of the sizes that interested me - everything in that size.

Followed by a quick visual comparison of the sizes for reference - gives it some perspective.

Summary plus different sizes plus size comparison, now I'm the one making it confusing.  :D

+1 to Z's suggestions!

+2 (or 1? )

I just thought I'd add to confusion by simplifying with my previous post :D

Oh, Brother, promise I will try to broadcast something asap.  Just a lot of editing needed to be done(to features dozens of tests in a acceptable manner), and also need to continue move onto the mid size.

Zoidberg, strmliner and firiki,

Thanks for all the suggestions.  No worries, I only change my mind every 5 mins on how best to do it.  Currently, I am leaning towards:

--Quick intro and info about the tests
--Show all twelve sawings in speed-up split-screen, while showing basic spec of each tools and results
--Make saw comparison pictures for all tools
--Show group results, comparative results, and answer some age-old questions(which brand is best, difference between 91mm vs 93mm, difference between layers, etc)

Looking forward to your presentation

Saws  and wire cutters are my personal benchmarks for  evaluating an MT against other MTs

Thanks

Folks, just finished Mid size tools saw tests yesterday, and it's been a long and wild ride.  So far accumulated total of 7 hours of sawing and data... :ahhh

Right now in process of editing and post production, and hopefully the first saw test video will be ready in a day or two.  Please stay tuned!

Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for the warm support!

The first video about Pocket size multitool saw is out:

This video will be just about the 3-4in pocket size MT, and more saw video about Mid and Large size MT will be released soon.

Hope you guys like this one.  I will start a new thread/link for further discussion on this vid in general:

I hope you'll be doing a 108mm Victorinox in the next vid  >:D

It will be very interesting too see if you manage to make 12 cuts and resist the urge to go and jump off something high  Just so you are warned, you might need to book a week off work for 12 cuts  :P

50ft-trad,

I did! >:D  And the testing for all mid size tools are completed.

Let me tell you offhand, 108mm Mauser ain't that bad...some tool in that group is so poorly designed that practically offers zero ergonomics for sawing.  At one point, it gotten so bad that I was wondering whether I was sawing wood or my hand off.

Ergonomics that bad must have come from Leatherman  :P I'm surprised at your findings on the 108mm Mauser. I think I'd struggle to get worse results with a Swisschamp's fish tickler

I look forward to the next instalment  :tu:
