For all you Spartan fans, I just saw this on the West Marine website.  The Spartan "Knots", "Code Flags", and "Anchor" knifes for under $10 each.

             http://www.westmarine.com/outlet/buy/victorinox--spartan-knots-knife--16767295

That's very nice

I think of them as "Super Spartans" Steve!  I'm waiting for my Spartan to show up so my Climber is filling in (on hold until I'm done with the Evo Challenge :ahhh)

My Sportsman today is the nylon version of yours or Sportsman II as it's sometimes called. A very handy SAK.

That 125th Anniv Spartan is great!!!  I have the Cybertool version!

I did forget to mention that I got to put this particular Spartan together myself :o I was at Smoky Mountain Knife Works the same weekend as the VIctorinox truck was there and if you bought a certain amount then you could put your own knife together :D I bought a 125 year anniversay Swisschamp and then I got to do this  I also got to tour the trailer/museum they had and not knowing much about SAKs as I do now thought it was very neat and still enjoyed it thoroughly ;)

Looks like a great book!

It is. Remarkably detailed about all of the members of the 1920's expedition and their formative experiences in WW1. In one sense heavy going but really does put into perspective their achievements at and beyond the limits.

With help from Lowtech on knife, and WoodMan's laser cut walnut scales, I sent this off to a half-sister that I've not seen since I was a teenager. Reconnected with my 3 half-sisters (kind of) through an obituary of biological mother. Sent a request to the cemetary to give my contact data to the surviving daughters. Soon had reconnected with them on Facebook. Saw one about a year later, she came down to see me so gave her my Juice XE6 that I won from a Leatherman Halloween Pumpkin contest.

So when I got this Spartan donation from Lowtech, and idea formed. WoodMan came to the rescue, and it went back east to that biker half-sister of mine.
