Climber christmas edition
on: October 07, 2015, 09:05:20 AM
So this christmas Victorinox is doing a special edition of the Climber model with white transparent scales! It looks a lot like silvertech from the pics but a bit brighter.

Well, that does look pretty.  Wonder if it will ever be seen in my neck of the woods.

I'm not a big fan of the transparent scales, but as a user of multis, I really appreiate Victorinox for xomming out with so mamy variations and colors of their tools. I wish other manufacturers (I'm looking at you Leatherman!) Had more options than bead blast or Black Oxide that wasn't exorbitant.

I've only seen this on German sites. Nothing from Victorinox either. Strange!
Looks so much like the Silver Tech.

I agree, it looks very silvertechy.
On the other hand, I think I read "matte white" on some German site.

I guess it's like silvertech except with white instead of silver paint on the inside of the scale.  It looks really nice.  Any word on what the Euro price will be?

If it's a matter of painting the inside of the scales, I wonder if there will be more of these. First Silvertech, now Whitetech, then who knows? Goldtech, Purplytech, Bluetec (MBZ), Redtech, Titaniumtech, Stripetech, Phototech??...  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

The translucents always look better in reality than photos, especially silvertech, so these will probably look amazing.

Yeah, I think I'd like this one.
I carry a SilverTech Climber often in my purse.

Agree, they are nice looking, but I'll wait for Greentech.  :D

Neil already did one that's kind of "stripetech":

It would be really cool if there were completely clear scales where you could spray the inside the colour of your choice before fitting.

I just came across this Christmas Climber on the MEC website. I think it looks good. I may add it to my wishlist but I am also looking at a CyberTool.

I think it looks fantastic, and the Climbler is a superb urban SAK! However, I used to have a Silvertech Deluxe Tinker, and found out the hard way that those transparent scales are rather brittle, so I've tried to steer clear since then. The only other transparent scales I have on Vics are on my cybertools, but I have spare celidor scales on standby..... I'd like to see nylon plus scales more readily available
