my Edc pocket dump
on: October 14, 2015, 10:28:42 AM
Here's a quick look, description to follow.
I figured it was time to show off my EDC. Yes I am a heavy loadout kind of guy. A friend once said upon my arrival "do you have the right tool? because if you dont, it just arived." and that was 10yrs ago, I've only gotten worse. On my belt all that is visable are the LM shieth, LoPro Pouch, Celphone case and my key ring. Evreything else is sub kited and stowed in my pockets, keeping my back left free of anything other than my bandana in case I need to re-arange something on the go. I can leave all the knives to enter a non permisive location with out removing the entire kit, so I am never without tools.
On self defence items; if I am carrying a firearm I generaly don't carry the peperspray. Though I have a diecent collection of weapons avalable I prefer a "tools not weapons" philosiphy in my EDC just because on how litagation happy the world has become.

To give a list to my madness seams apropriate.

Condor Instructors/riggers belt
Vic OH Trecker
Leatherman ST300
SwissCard Quatro
Vic MiniChamp

extra small torsion wrench
RE Factor Survival Card
Hacksaw blade
Misc safteypins
Hair pin
Braided SS wire 10ft
12lb MonoLine 24ft
Peanut Lighter w/extra flint
Leatherman6
LeathemanCarabener clone
ResQme
mini Sharpie
firstaid kit
12Ft electricions tape
60in seamstress tape
DMT diamond sharpener

Uncle Mikes Baton/MagLight ring
Skinth B5 Toollet

Sylicone braclet, holds first aid closed

Jute cord wrapped around back of ST300 sheath

The only thing to have changed on this list in the last 6 month a is the LoPro replaces a Maxpedition pouch and the ReFactor card was added when they came out. I was going to review one but never got around to writing it up.

Edits are mostly spelling and grammar, a couple name clarifications, I forgot the model of my flashlight and brand of lock picks.

Here's how the socket wrench assembles.
Parts are the 2 Craftsman drivers and the GatorGrip with its adapter. To change ratchet direction simply remove and flip over wrench.

What I'd like to see is you all geared up.  It's always neat to see all the gear spread out on tables but ON person is more interesting.

All that's visable is the st300, cell holster, LoPro,  and a few extra pounds.
The uncle Mikes ring with my keys hangs just behind the cell. The flashlight, pen, and sm pouch holding socket/driver is in my left front. Trekker, money clip(for work) and Jetlight in front right. First aid kit and paracord lanyard in the 5th leg pocket on my Dickies or back left  with bandana when in jeans. Necklace, wallet, and watch all where you expect them to be.

Please excuse the bathroom clutter. I just came in from walking the dogs and saw this request, so I ditched my cover shirt and snapped a photo.

No my fly is not down. That's a spot on the mirror, not a pull tab.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Thanks for the compliments.
I didn't mention the reasoning for the color choice of all black was not to be mall ninja; my work requires Black; black pants, black belt, black holsters. Basically I get to pick the color of my boots and underwear, everything else has to be black, or blue in the case of the actual company shirt.  I enjoy my day off because I get to wear something other than black.

When I lived further north some of the loose stuff would actually live in my jacket pockets rather than my pants, so size and weight were not as important. I could carry a full tape measure instead of a seamstress tape for example. Wrenches, driver bits, etc. none of that had to be as compact. Now that I live in TX the warm weather prevents me from wearing jackets most of the year so it is important to keep it small and around 5lb or less, especially if I am adding the weight of a ccw.
