Conan the Barbarian School of LM Modification
on: November 02, 2015, 02:33:21 PM
So I love the MUT EOD. But I don't have an AR. And I don't use C4. I mainly bought it because of the hammer. Which isn't quite what I had hoped. Thinking it would make a good camping survival tool. Pretty much what the LM Signal is supposed to. I want to do more to it. But...  :pok:
I love the ST300 but I never use it. Because its too bulky.
I nearly swapped over the pliers to my BO Surge. Because I don't use that as much as I would like to either. But I didn't want to screw up the screws.

P.S. Anyone found a practical use for cap crimpers other than for dets?

Click on it for the title.

What are those cross shaped parts?  Are those specialized tools and if so, what are they called?

I use the crimper on my Swiss tool all the time. It works great to crimp electrical connectors, and holding small round things.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

That's a nice mod  :tu: Also I was wondering if the blades on the Mut and Surge are interchangeable, that way a custom surge blade could be on a Mut.

Not sure about the hole. But as you can see different size and shape. Would require some dremel...ing. The following measurements are taken from the hilt to the widest part with my plastic $10 digital calipers.

Mut:
width 19mm
thickness 2.5mm

Surge:
width 17mm
thickness 1.8mm

Thanks for the good information! :tu: I guess the blades should be relatively interchangeable because the pliers are the same, so the pivot hole must be too.

Here at the Conan the Barbarian School of LM modification, we don't know the meaning of the word "impossible". We use words like "Persistence"; "Dumb Luck" and "Unreasonable use of force".
So my ultimate Mut mod is comming along. To be honest if I knew it was going to be this much effort... No, I won't say it.
....The story so far. I took out the ruler/pry bar from my Gerber Grappler and several trips to the hardware stor later. It's not finished yet.... Work in progress and all that.

I want to do more to it. But...  :pok:

When words like these are uttered over at Conan the Barbarian School of LM Modification, that can only mean one thing: tools, start whimpering now for no tool is safe  :tu:
