This pic just caused me to order this knife.  I've never heard of them before.  I've spent hours reading about them and had to order one.  I should have it today, a #8.

It arrived 30-minutes ago.  Just long enough to fondle it slightly and snap some photos.  I love it so far.

At first I thought that was a regrind. The blade has a huge up-sweep. Looks great!

I've posted this elsewhere but it most certainly applies.

I'm just crazy about these knives! :D

For the money you are very hard pressed to find a better knife than an Opinel.

As for my latest knife, I just got a Spyderco Native from a member here.

Morakniv Pro C. A stout carbon blade. I've had it for 10 days now. I've given it some try, here are my thoughts. It will shave/scrape material off since it's sharp but it is not good at push cutting or slicing, let's say that for me this knife is not good for delicate tasks (cutting twine proved challenging). I think it is better suited for using its belly against a flat surface or for pushing down hard against materials that need to be split. I'm not used to this blade shape and I don't know if I like it. I'm sure it has its uses in construction work but the combination of a relatively short and quite wide blade with minimal blade tip and lots of belly going up almost vertically make me think this is not a good knife for general use.

The handle is confortable and provides good grip. The stamped lettering can be annoying for naked finger tips/hands. The finger guard is useful but combined to the blade's dimensions I think it limits its usefulness. I tried various grip positions and I don't really like how it makes me handle the knife. Maybe I'll get used to it with time but for now I can't work with this knife intuitively. The sheath is very good and holds the knife securely; I couldn't get the knife to come out by holding the sheath upside down and shaking it with some force.

A couple of minus points because of the rough, unfinished spine, the little gap on both sides of the blade where it meets the handle and more importantly because rust has already begun forming. I was holding the knife with my thumb against the finger guard and the rest of my hand on the spine trying to whittle and to strip cable. I wiped the knife clean after use but I didn't oil it and now there are aproximately 60 tiny specs of rust present on both sides of the blade. Maybe you can see some in the third picture right before the letter M and after what I presume is a knife blade tip on the stamp, it's really hard to get better pics with my camera.

Giving CRKT a change again. Can I say did not expect it to be this big. Look at it next to a Tenacious.

Is that the Crawford/Kasper?

If so I have the original model from probably 15 years ago. It never even picked up a speck of rust and the action is still perfect. I used it a bunch. I can get some pics.

I picked up a Benchmade 940-1501 recently.  I was a bit concerned about how the fit & finish would be due to BM's reputation lately.  This one was spot on I'm happy to report (as it should have been for the price tag).  The edge was ground perfectly, blade centered exactly with absolutely no play, and not a flaw in the finish that I could see.  It's been a pleasure to carry and use these past few weeks.

I like the looks of that CRKT. The blade closely resembles that of the Griptilian.

Yep its one heck of a knife. And it's sharp, flawless, blade is centered, and no blade play. Not back for $12.

Thank you, enki.

I don't know whether I like this knife or not, I need to put it to actual use. It feels like it is better suited for heavy tasks. I'll update once I have formed an opinion.
