Thanks Al. I'm enamored with the Queen canoe pattern and this is my second one.  I bought a late model Case canoe a few weeks ago and it doesn't even compare.  I plan to do a little write-up comparing them soon.

I like the Canoe pattern too. Haven't had one for a while. To be honest, my fascination for traditional folders stops at two blades, and I've got rid of most of mine with three or four blades. Unfortunately, I've also veered away from the carbon steels lately, so although the Queen knife looks sublime, I'd actually be happier with the Case in my pocket. I think I've only got three carbon folders left, and possibly the same amount of 3+ bladed traditionals.

That said.....

When I did the unintentional 20 mile walk last week, I was carrying a D2 folder, and I carried a Seahorse Whittler a few days before that.... so feel free to take everything I said above with apinch of salt  :P

I hear 'ya.  Carbon takes some care.  However, I don't find that I have to baby D2 much since it doesn't stain anywhere near as easily as 1095, and holy cow what great edge retention it has.  There's another reason to carry a Queen.

Um... What's this 20 mile walk you speak of?  ???

Look up "a bijou strollette" thread in the break room (struggling to make a hyperlink from my phone). It shows a couple of walks I did. One was just three miles round the local park, and the otherr was meant to be about ten miles, but ended up being 20

These came in earlier today. Schrade Walden 15OT and a Western 657. This 657 doesnt have the matchstriker pull or Concave Ground tang stamp on the spey blade as the other one does but has the same tang stamp I think its date of production would be in the late 50's or early 60's.

I've been a BIG fan of the RJ Martin/Kershaw collaboration and have most of them. The one I didn't have was the 3.0. So, having a little bit left in my Amazon account I ordered one up. Almost immediately I had buyers remorse - I thought the knife was going to end up being one of the Walmart Christmas package deals and lowered my expectations. Boy was I wrong! When it arrived it felt great in my hand, not slippery or too chunky (I was really worried about the plastic scales) and the blade shape is awesome. It's been in my pocket now for the last couple of weeks and has been used daily; it's the perfect size for daily chores. I'm sure I'll start to lose some of the black blade coating eventually, but it's held up pretty well so far. It's a great knife for $20!
