This Cattaragus Electrician came in the other day. I thimking it should be a late 1920's or early 1930's knife. Its a kind of rough but still has a lot of use in it.    :D

Morakniv 510

I'd been drooling for a while over that one, I saw it in a shop and since the price was good I made an Xmas present to myself.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this knife. The handle actually exceeds my expectations as far as ergonomics are concerned and the blade's size is just right for me :tu: I think I'm going to force a patina on the blade. Any suggestions are welcome.

Strangely, there was a dab of what seemed like mineral oil near the base, where you see a slight discolouration. I wiped it off with a piece of kitchen paper and this seems to have marred the polished finish. There's also a tiny piece of edge protruding in the middle of said discolouration, that I can't capture in the picture, but it doesn't seem to be affecting cutting performance.

I don't mind any of these things since this knife is a user -but I think I'll be getting me a spare at some point :)

They had a clear-out sale at one of my favorite knife stores, so I picked up this neat Spyderco (anyone got a model-name on that one?) and a pretty Böker Bender.

Nice ones! That's a Spyderco Rescue orange, 93mm. A classic!

Schrade 12OT   :)

That was the first knife I got new--unfortunately, it was also one of the first Schrades to come out of China under Taylor ownership.     I got a used 12OT and 3OT for less than $10 together a couple months back--both USA made.  The 12OT now, with 1095, and not that flimsy 7Cr17 (which is too soft, and easily damaged), is a nice knife. I strongly suggest that we here ask Taylor to have more knives made here, in the USA by Kutmaster and Bear MGC.
