Here's my car keys with a NEW metal version of my DIY, key chain size razor blade knife:
(Image removed from quote.)
This version is locked from accidental deployment while attached with the McGizmo-style quick release clip. It can slice through seatbelts, in an emergency, and is easy to keep perpetually razor-sharp.

I encourage others to give it a go and give more details in this vid:

This is just the basic version but I'm working on deluxe configurations too, like: jacket zipper pull, glow fob, reflector, etc.

I made one for clipping sigars, i made it from an old gunshell i found on the beach near Den-Helder. I keep it in the small pocket in the frontpocket of my jeans :tu:

On my keychain
  • Keys!
  • 3 meters of Paracord (mostly just because it's handy to fish the keys out of my pocket with)
  • Vic Minichamp (courtesy of Aloha007).
  • Solarforce X3 50 Lumen AAA flashlight (wrapped in duct tape as stainless gets real slippery when it's wet)

Oh, I just remembered when I was a teen.. I loved to get small stuffed toys for my keychain! :D At one point it was so big, I didn't know how to put it in my backpack  it had the volume of three tennis balls!

That's Manager. Figured dedicated pen is too much, but emergency pen like that is very useful.

That Key smart is sweet. This is the second key oriented thingy I have seen today. I think once I get my refund from Leatherman I might get one.

It really is great. Keep the keys in slim profile and neat and screws don't loose too.

Yes, I like it. Overall its perfect on keychain small, light and bright enough for a small room.
I chose CW and the tint is a bit blue-ish so I think NW would be better.

Micro Emergency Fire Starting Kit for Keys or Tiny Survival Kits
Reply #1138 on: July 15, 2014, 07:25:15 AM
This thing I've made is not a lighter for cigarettes, etc., but rather a tiny device used to throw sparks, used in an emergency survival situation to start a campfire:

I made one for my micro, minimalist survival kit and a green one for my key chain:

Here's a detailed vid on how to make and use them. It's pretty easy and practically free (if you already have an empty Mini BIC lighter and a paper clip):
