Nice blades! What company makes those?

I have my eye on a Randall Model 3 or 7. They're very expensive though. I've been looking for alternatives... If anybody knows a reasonably priced look-a-like, please let me know. :tu:

My actual hunting knife is this custom from Robbie Bauchop.
Its a one of a kind modification of one of his big five series; see the one in the middle.
Part of the hunting thing is to sit around the fire and show off kit ;)
I carry a folder as well but this would be used to gut in the field. Its hard to clean a folder, specially an Axis lock like some are showing.

Very nice, trying to forget that they and several other SA custom makers exist.

I have to ask, how do you define a hunting knife?

Determined by the prey?

My Mora Bushcraft is the only knife I've used while hunting, so is that my only hunting knife?  :D

For sure.

To me its something that can be used for gutting and maybe skinning.
In SA skinning is usually done by farm labour with an Okapi ;o)  (that makes an Okapi a hunting knife)

Exactly what I was getting at  :)

My gut instinct is a hunting knife must be fixed blade, but the truth is the only thing I wouldn't want to do with a folder is dispatch the animal by punching in at the base of the skull (Springbok & such).
