I just got the 2015 CutleryShoppe re-release olive Cadet so I wanted to do a quick side-by-side view to see if there are any differences. Here are the photos so you can judge for yourself:

I can say the following:

1. The original olive Cadet is slightly ligher in color (it's on the left in the first pic, right on the second pic)
2. The original has a tang stamp with the large "V" on Victorinox, while the 2015 release has a small V
3. The original doesn't have a half stop on the bottle opener, while the 2015 does

Are these three things enough to make this a separate piece for the collection? In my case, apparently yes...

I would say yes.

Great detective work.  :tu:

The color may be due to the color changing under the influence of sunlight over time. Not sure if Alox is affected but we saw that on cellidor already. As for 2 and 3, yes those were the changes made in the 84mm lineup in the last 3 years.

It's more of a difference than with or without keyring so why not. :P

I would have appreciated if the re-run was without the keyring, I'd have less of a hard time explaining someone the difference without sounding like an idiot :)

Best you don't bother with the explanations and just send one of them to me.

Your welcome.

There can be quite a bit of variation in colour from batch to batch- I've had Farmers and Pioneers that are the same colour according to their serial number, but were visibly different.
