We've discussed these in a different subforum. The concensus seemed to be that, if nothing else, this was a poor design. Imagine my surprise when I saw this flash up on my television the other other day. They actually spent money making a commercial and getting air time for this product. Hey, I've got to give it to them. You don't see Leatherman or Gerber commercials that often. And the timing is pretty good - Christmas is THE primo time of year (right there with Father's Day) where gimmicky, cheap, odd harware store checkout line products can really sell. So, who knows.

For $25 more, I can get a brand new Leatherman Crunch, which has several more tools and folds down into a more compact format, plus it's USA made.

To me, the tool should not be selling for more than $25.

The design is odd, and looks like the pliers will get in the way of the blade.

This came on tv as me and the wife were watching. She looks at me and is like "You want one don't you?"

Umm no.

You'd think that Monrogue would know you better than that.

I bet as soon as someone else gets one you'll be all over it like magpies on gravy as we say here in Blighty.

Found one of these today in store at Lowes for $20.  All they had was the 6LN long nose model.  If they'd taken the time and money it cost them to produce the commercial and instead used it in development of the tool, I think we'd have a good tool.  The bottom jaw was loose (went from side to side easily), the screwdriver really didn't stay open, and positioning the blade to open on the pliers end was a stupid decision. Also, despite being new and sealed, I had a rust spot on the blade and rust on the screwdriver bit.

I wished they'd copied the original model they had in the '90s.

Leatherman, Victorinox and Gerber do not advertise as they know their stuff's good enough to the point advertising is done by word of mouth by owners.
