SOG Power Assist change the Blades ??
on: December 28, 2015, 03:20:21 PM
Hi , i have a SOG Power Assist B66 and i`m very happy with it.
Now my question: is it possible to change the two blades against each other ?
Give it problems with the "assist Funktion"??
I don`t be sure...

Thank`s for help !!

Heres a free bump, since no one (including myself) seems to know if it is possible.

Are you wanting to switch the blades around or wanting to put different tools in there place.

I'm not certain, but I seem to recall seeing a picture of a PA disassembled, and the blades are specific to the side of the handle they occupy. Like they have a cut-out channel on one side for the spring to fit into. I'm not sure though, so let me do some digging and see if I can find the thread.

Check this out. This is not what I remember seeing but it was the first one I came to, thought it might help until we found something better.

Also, check out the attached picture I ripped from Google. This is the image I was talking about in my previous post, as it shows how the spring interacts with the blade.

The pic you found on google doesn't look to match the pics in the thread you linked to.

It also is different to the blacktip (a non spring assisted version similar to the powerassist) parts in front of me.

We need some more pics.

Looking at that pic, looks like you can put other tools there, but you might lose the assisted opening. Not 100% sure. Might have to take apart my SOG to find out.
