Give me a couple of hours to sober up and I'll start one, I'll find an appropriate subforum and link it here.  :drink:

Cutting some replacement band-aid for my small EDC pharmacological tin. Cut my finger on a tin can out of all things (and  a pull-tab one at that...) Luckily not as bad as jlwatso1 but close enough to cutting the tip off.

I hope it's not as bad as mine... Feels like getting my finger smashed if I even bump it with part of the nail gone.  :ahhh  Its healing up though.

No, it's healing just fine and wasn't that bad to begin with. I think my cut was further out on the tip (no cut to the nail) so it needed less to almost cut it off ::).

Once again the cap lifter proves to be the most important tool for day to day activities. Here opening a porter to go with a steak tartare.

Edit: It's nice to add the picture in question too.

Last minute as always. The P3 helped me with a chain that had jumped off from my bike (could've done it without but I would have gotten really dirty). As for the picture:

Oh yes, I was in looking at that. Just waiting for for snow to go, winter is harsh on the chains. And because they always recommend changing the rear gears, getting it fixed is a 70$ deal... I can get a decent second hand bike at a quarter of that...

January 21:

Took a chance and bought a bunch of knives, got a Victorinox Ranger to show for it. It was in need of some love so a quick scrub and some oil was in order. Got some use of my "Swiss made" oil canister (felt that was fitting for a Swiss made knife). The P3 got the job of using some force on the Fujunjie USA Saber. One could at least hope it was real horn. Alas, not.

I must say that I'm considering reselling the Ranger, there should be little difficulty geting my money back and then some considering the second hand prices for SAKs around here. Case in point "rare" electrician, used, went for 30+ $. The only rare thing about it was the lack of the electrician knife. Oh, right, that's a Pioneer. And for that kind of money I can get a NIB...

Group shot of the pliers tools in my pitiful collection in order of acquisition. Note that the two latest are from the last month or so (it's escalating!  :ahhh)

Most carried is probably the Micra but that's mostly due to EDCing it for years when I was but a wee lad :D. It's long since I carried it now.
I carried the clutch for a long time together with the Micra for the pliers but it was a clumsy way of adding them to my carry and the toolset overlaps almost completely (and almost always the Micra comes out as the better one).
The Surge was a second hand find in a country where a new one is almost 200$. Way to clumsy for my fairly normal sized hands though.
Then again basically everything about the Suspension is clumsy, it's rather telling that I happened to photograph it with one of the locks engaged and the other not.
The PST is the tool I've carried these last couple of years and it's taken a decent deal of abuse with no complaints.
The P3 is my attempt to replace it and it would be really successful if it wasn't for the lacking quality of the inside tools.

Not at all.  If you owned just one MT, that would put you in the top 0.002% of the world's population in terms of both preparedness and overall cool factor.

I'm more and more considering picking up a second PST to take parts from for the P3, might have to try and find one with broken pliers or something like that.

Seeing these new SOG models and their smart solution for bit holder gets me thinking. What if I removed the plierhead and squared out the area between the pivot points (red is how it's now, blue is proposed change). Then I might get a working (albeit lesser) solution. Considering how much play there is in the 1/4" holder it can't be much worse...

I was just going to wait until the Reactor came out,  and see if the pliers were compatible

I think it might be for a PowerLock or PowerAssist, but the PocketPowerPlier has that very much specialized non-centred plierhead to make anything fit. After a late night brainsession I've concluded that waiting and seeing is the better thing to do and I do think I have a non-destructive solution to possibly use in the meantime.
If it is indeed compatible with one of the larger sizes, well, I might have to get one...

January 25th:

It will be really nice to get back to normal carry. A blade that's simple and quick to deploy is the most missed followed by the cap lifter. A SAK is just a bit more friendly in that regard.

As for my plan to make a bit driver nestled in the closed tool kinda like on the new models. That has come to a halt since the 3$ driver held up surprisingly well against cutting. My new (cheap) saw ("for wood and metal") was blunted in 10 sekonds. I'll probably have to resort to power tools.
