Anyone ever check out the Kershaw Dune neck knife?
on: January 13, 2016, 06:46:16 PM

I had a 45.00 voucher from Kershaw that expired Monday, so I drove over and picked it up.  Had a few bucks left and they said i could pick something else and pay the difference.  got a Kershaw beanie and they didn't even charge me the extra.

its a little larger/heavier than expected.  the display room didnt have one i could look at, but i knew the risk.  besides, it was either use it or lose it on the voucher.

I'll wear it a bit and see how it feels, but was wondering if anyone else had one or opinions?
Thanks

This is from their site:

There's a reason we've nicknamed it a neck "sword"

Fan of the neck knife? Check out the new Kershaw Dune.

As a backup knife, an easy-to-access utility blade, or just an unobtrusive, easy-to-carry EDC, neck knives are becoming a top choice for many knife users. Not only does ours look awesome, at 3.8 inches, the Dune’s blade is longer than other neck knives, providing more usable slicing area. It also has a tanto tip ideal for piercing—as well as an overall sword-like blade design that gives it an unmistakable style.

For solid reliability, the Dune is a full-tang knife and has textured, glass-filled nylon scales that make for a lightweight and durable knife with a secure grip.

Naturally, the Dune includes its own molded sheath that snaps the knife securely into position, yet releases quickly when needed. The Kershaw logo “K” molded into the sheath lets knife users know they’re carrying the best with Kershaw.

Additional Features

    Molded sheath, lanyard
    Full tang construction
    Steel: 3Cr13, black-oxide finish
    Handle: Injection molded
Blade length: 3.8 in. (9.7 cm)
Overall length: 7.7 in. (19.8 cm)
    Weight: 2.5 oz. (72 g)

Interesting looking. It doesn't seem like it would be that comfortable to wear though.

Any initial thoughts?

Not yet.  Its a little dangly, but i figure i'll wear it for a few days to see how it adjusts.  right now im only wearing it in the house, so we'll see how it feels with more activity and walking.

Resonable carry looks like it needs something added to make it work. Like a MALICE clip or some other loop and electricans or duct tape, and tuck it between pants and belt.

How is the blade? I find a lot of small Kershaws are too thick for their width.
