Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Looks like that would be a sweet hunting/camp knife. Not getting the tactical vibe from it like others. Maybe just me.

It even gets pretty good reviews (always in consideration of its price).

Imaginably, it would be one in coyote brown to go with my hawk... I also fathom that if I'd buy one it supposedly would come with a plain edge.

Oh no... not the Picts... I know body-painting and tattoos are in again, but why Picts?

I have to ask, is there someone else who always reads Picts instead of pics and gets confused ::)

I now live in Pictland and have, so far, resisted the temptation to cover myself in blue woad patterns.

Ok, and some initial thoughts, remember all I have done is baton-ed it through a block of wood and some light shaving.

- It does not color match my hawk :ahhh :P
- It needs sharpening

Ok, more serious.
The knife feels solid but that is a bit early to tell. Anyway, I love the handle, very grippy, very comfy if they would make a non black one I would probably buy a second one. Although, it does not look too tactical with its 13cm long blade.
Its the kind of knife will ride inside my backpack, so I like the fact that the sheath can be stripped to the bare minimum.

Photo-shoot with my latest muse

Really like the versatility of the sheath.

Naked the sheath is pretty small. The knife is excellently retained in the sheath, no danger of it falling out. There are also two drain-holes at the bottom of the sheath.

Easy attachment for horizontal carrying.

Molle strap for traditional belt carrying.

All silliness aside I really do like the look of the Strongarm.  Modern "tactical" knives really aren't my thing, but I think Gerber have managed to make a cracking looking knife there. :salute:

The versatile sheath also looks very well thought out.  Can the knife be inserted for a more left handed friendly carry?

You mean handle first with the blade sticking out?

Yes you can. The sheath is symmetrical, the knife is held by that latch snapping onto the black part of the handle.

More close-up shots...
Here you can also see there are some imperfections in the plastic at the coyote tan / black transition.

No, I haven't sharpened it at all yet.

But I won't sharpen the upper part of the tip as my uses do not call for that. Actually, I have no idea why one would do that. Is that for gutting?

 Last night as I saw the pics I mistook the reflection and thought you'd sharpened that part. Sharpening that bit makes a knife stab better, obviously, which is why I think this is illegal in many parts of the world. It also provides a second, smaller edge for finer cuts.
