I like 'em small

I seem to have accumulated a few of the smaller hatchets on the market.  For scale the one on the far right is a standard hatchet of the type and size you'd find in pretty much any hardware shop.  On the far left is a Wenger SAK.

Left to right we have:  Vaughn Mini hatchet, Axe King 33cm and the Wetterlings Mini Axe.

Very nice looking small axes!   Especially like the hatchet with the hammer end.

My smallest hatchet is only about 6 or 7 inches long, with a nail puller and black plastic (wood patterned) handles. It was made by Colonial or Utica (I can't remember which) in the '60s and came with an identically handled hunting knife in a sheath, which I don't have either of those. It just doesn't have the weight to be good for much, however.

Nice to see these small uns, in my younger days as in the building trade I had a couple.

@Sparky415 I like the Estwing, I would call that a 'Lath Hammer' as in Lath and Plaster. Very nice.

Lobbing the Fubar was definitely one of the odder things I've done at a meet-up.  Fun though. :D

Here it is.  With it is an 85mm Wenger Golfer (kept on my workbench since it has almost no snap at all from bent liners, got it as a part of a lot) for size comparison.

Boaz,
I was looking for something else today and came across this,
Now this is what I would call a Lath hammer  :salute:

Excellent!  I'll need to dig out one of my old Slaters hammers, very similar in style to that one.
