This one clogged the city up for a couple of days. Heard the sirens for quite a while before finding out what it was for. They surrounded it with walls of sand and then popped it on a truck and drove it through the city.

They'd have done as good a job I reckon. Apparently the bomb was buried 1m under what used to be a school playground and the area was a wartime munitions store.

So, if you accidentally take an electrical shock, you go out and spend some money?...

Fascinating article d-kissle  :salute: Apparently William Gibson was inspired by Kowloon in his 'Bridge' trilogy set on the Golden Gate bridge.

Traffic straddling bus to beat traffic jams: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/may/26/china-straddling-floating-bus-beat-traffic-jams

Seems practical :tu:
And if done right, passengers can go out on the right side of the road :tu:

Although I'm not yet convinced that this is better than a hanging train.

Yes, it might seem at first that this needs less infrastructure but having those largish buses have other problems like... can a semi-truck go underneath?
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

That was my first thought too E-Thizzle. Also it doesn't tackle the problem of the traffic jam in the first place. I love that hanging train -sweet!

More "problems" (when compared to the hanging solution)

Bus still is affected by traffic accidents and idiots who block its path.
Bus itself seems like a bit of a road hazard.

I thought of it, too. I guess authorities would have to work out restrictions concerning the bus' route. Another thing is, can it turn in narrow streets? I doubt it, so this probably would only run on avenues and big streets. I guess it's big selling point is the lack of necessary infrastructure. Monorails are far better, though. I'm a big fan of rail transport :tu:

I think the "bear-infested" woods is a big exaggeration by the media. From other articles, they say that the big forrest was home to some bears, that rarely attack humans.
I hate it when the media does stuff like that. Hypothermia and falling accidents kills way, way more people lost in the woods than bears.
I bet they would call the woods around my house, "predator infested" because a couple of wolves and and a few lynx have killed some sheep here over the last year.
