Four years ago huh?  I don't think I have any newer than that (until now) which might explain why I saw the difference and you didn't.

I guess we know that some time, at least four years ago, this change was implemented.  I don't suppose you recall exactly when you got it?

Does anyone else have a Shard?  If so, which version and how long ago did you get it?

If you look closely, you can tell there are many subtle differences.

Excited new owner. Snagged this in a Walmart package for $7.  Been wanting one for a while. Getting a mini paraframe  is just a plus.

I have the Shard. Bought it when TSA confiscated my pocket wrench 2. Survived international travel security inspection which is saying a lot. Useful but for now just for travel use. The small size is a bit of a limiting factor but better than nothing. Rocking the crkt Viva which I find more useful due to size but I doubt will pass TSA as it looks too similar to a brass knuckler.

So yeah love it for travel but when I can I rock something bigger or a MT.

When it comes to the price and function of the Shard, it is one of the all time greatest multitools in my opinion.  You simply can't beat the cost, and while it might not be the most functional tool out there, I have paid more to get less.

For under $10 the real question is, why wouldn't you have one?   :pok:

That is very true and in most cases that can be had for less than $7   :like:

Indeed- what other tool can you get for that price that is as useful as the Shard?

I was bored at work last night, so I decided to take my printer apart. Used my Shard to take out several of the screws. I was shocked how well the Phillips actually worked on there.
Also used the prybar end to tighten a slotted screw holding a loose outlet cover.

What year is the SI?

Also, it looks like it has the WaffenKontrol stamp on it.  Sweet!
