Recommend me an EDC light!
on: March 03, 2016, 07:39:22 PM
Hi guys & gals!

I´d like to get a new EDC flashlight. I don´t really need one, but I´d like to get another one. I own several nice lights, but there should be something other. I own several Fenix E01 and a Kraftmaxx X100 - both nice AAA lights.

I own a Fenix LD10 and a LD20 as well as a E21. The LD10 lives in my bag and the other two are for my home.

My specification would be a single AAA or a single AA. A single CR123 would also work. But it should be as small as possible; even the LD10 is too big for my EDC carry. The Kraftmaxx and the E01 are great for EDC carry - something in that style (but not limited to the battery type) and a pocket clip.

It don´t have to be a SureFire or a JetBeam due to their high prices - something I don´t see on my lights and knives of some reasons. Well, my price limit is on 50.00 €.

Thanks for your help, in advance! :)

Lots of AAA and a few AA that might do - can you narrow it down a bit? Switch type? Material? Colour?

As others have said in another post the ThruNite T10 is hard to beat for the price.

The thrunite tihi is amazing. Its supper bright, light weight, well built, and the battery last a long time. I can't believe it just runs off 1 AAA battery.

ThruNite Ti HI Flashlight, CREE XP-L HI LED, Max output 120 lumens, Using 1*AAA, IPX-8 Waterproof (Ti HI CW) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017VTKVT2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_zKC2wbRDE746B

I think a near perfect EDC light is my Eagletac D25A Clicky.  Small, bright, very well made, good UI, lots of brightness levels to choose from.

I honestly only feel the need to carry any of my other lights so as they don't feel left out.

Fenix LD09 (130lm edition); very useful settings and it's small and lightweight even with shorts and no belt. I love mine.

Lumintop Tool AAA is very promising as well but I haven't got one.

Thanks for the advices :)

I need to look through these. But the ThruNite doesn´t seem to be widely available around here.

Have you checked Amazon?  Thrunite seem to do most of their selling via them.

That seems very similar to the Olight I3s... similar shape, similar clip, same modes...

Shall we be generous and call it "inspired by"?  :D

Actually I have the Ti3 in Neutral White and I have to say it's a cracking wee torch.

I have a Princeton Tec Pulsar 2 on my keychain. Cheap as chips and pretty reliable.

I recently bought and LED Lenser P7.2 I rather like it, and they do seem to have some good write-ups.  They do produce a small number of single cell versions.

Link to UK website, but it'll give you an idea

I agree. Has more throw than a T10 on high mode, I guess because of a narrower beam angle, but it does more with half as many lumens.
The mode sequence of L/M/H is different to the Olight I3s's M/H/L
