I use this porte-monnaie (crappy pic).



It can also hold some paper money in the small pocket. The leather on this one is rather soft, which has pros and cons. Ideally, I'll get me a new one, similar but better, when I have time to go look for one.

Seriously now, it looks good. What I like about my porte-monnaie though rather than pouches is that I can hold all the coins on the flap instead of digging them out. The fact it can hold some paper money too makes it really useful.

You have a good eye firiki. It is indeed a dead rat. I'm surprised it's lasted for 5 years without fully decomposing. Just lucky I guess. Me, not the rat.

I don't often use paper money or coins.  I tend to use a debit card now a days.  When I was paying cash and received coins I'd put them in my front right pocket.  When I got to my car put them in a cup I had for coins.  As that cup filled I'd take some to a larger container in my home.

i carry it in my wallet but it doesn't have a zipper or flap so if i open my wallet with the right side up everthing falls out. So i always have to open it upside down.

Yes and this way the whole thing becomes quite compact, even while holding a considerable amount of big coins. With the flap open you can use the little tail at the bottom to shake the thing so that the coins come out. This is quite an old design and a pretty functional one IMO.
