Thanks Tony....you Linseed oil recipe works, but I also attack with black shoe polish  :salute:

The Trailhawk is a lovely little tool and I chose it because the hammer is functional and overall it looked the most authentic......for me.  The cutting edge is small so.........

I've just finished the slight mod on the Viking Hand Axe which entailed loosing the grub screw, staining the handle and fitting the head properly (slightly better).......

Same as on the Trailhawk the handle supplied is the wrong shape and size to really be fitted properly.

Not used it much, but the balance feels a bit funny, I suspect I might be shortening the handle slightly, and something beefier might also help.

Just from looking at it I think a slightly shorter handle sounds like a good idea to me too.  Very nice though mate. :tu:

BTW, the man buys a Viking Axe and no-one has used this guy yet? :viking:  I have to say I'm a little disappointed in you all.:-\

;)

My paint remover (same as with the Trailhawk) wasn't up to challenge of the CS coating, at least it got rid of the "TAIWAN" and some clear coat it had on, and at least the coating is silver, not black like the TH.

I've sharpened it a bit, but nowhere near done with that.

I did chop it into my target palm tree several times while fitting the handle an messing around a bit.

I would not want to stand in the Viking's way  :viking:
