I am looking to get back into digital photography
on: March 31, 2016, 04:24:01 PM
Would anyone have a good suggestion for a nice entry level to intermediate digital camera? I haven't had one since 2007 and I'm sure they've quite a long way since then. I'd like to spend around $200 if I can help it. I get enjoyment out of taking pictures of my tools and I'd like to take some better quality shots rather than using my Samsung Galaxy S4.

DSLR, compact?

Any known brand should take nice pictures in daylight, but if you want to take pictures at night, you may want a, used, DSLR, with the standard lens, to save money

A good used DSLR will serve you well. I'm selling my old gear, but looking for more than you want to spend, and shipping probably wouldn't be cheap.

I plan on getting something especially with nicer weather on the horizon, I can always expand my budget if its unrealistic.

Biggest take-aways thus far:

  • Can't go wrong with a name brand
  • Good, used is the way to go
