My first custom
on:
April 05, 2016, 08:04:14 AM
I know I should have posted in "My Latest Knife" thread but I'm so excited I'm giving this a dedicated thread...
My custom puukko finally made it. Lauri SS blade 95 mm, brass bolster, moose antler, veneer, leather and birch handles.
Not too shabby for 50 Euros, right?
And yes, I know bushcrafting knives should be carbon, but I hate rust, patina and tasting iron all day... plus I'm afraid it's a bit too pretty to manhandle.

Just a really nice looking knife at a equally nice price indeed.
And I'm with you as far as the stainless goes as well. Just prefer it to carbon.

Oh wow! That is nice!
Now, go out and cut some stuff, carve a spoon and build a fire. Break that bad girl in.
That sheath looks good too.

Very nice knife! I love the burl handle on it- understated but obvious at the same time. Very classy!
Stainless is a good choice as well- I cringe when I see traditional type working knives with a carbon blade kept in a leather sheath. I love leather, but the things it does to a blade long term are not pretty.
I can't wait to hear how it holds up on some adventures!

Congrats. Its really a lovely knife and the sheath is as well. Nothing wrong with SS at all especially as Def states about keeping it in leather.

After a mess-up with the courier's office (typical
) I finally got it in my hand this morning.
Great feel, great knife, perfect size... Althought 11 wouldn't have too big either, I reckon... Right now it's about the size of my current edc.. the Ganzo 727...
