MP400 fisherman sheath
on: April 19, 2016, 02:38:32 AM
I just got an MP 400 fisherman in great shape. The sheath however, is not. Please post what the factory sheath looks like.
Looks like the elongated pliers wore through this sheath in several places.

Mine looks like the one on the left below but shorter.

The factory sheath won't last long either. These pliers will eventually poke through
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I don't have a Fisherman to try it with, but I wonder if the Flik sheath might work?  It's designed to have plier tips sticking out the bottom.

The original sheath my MP400 came with was already perforated in many spots from the pliers. I heated a 1" PVC pipe cap with a heat gun and squashed it in a vise. While still hot I formed the cap opening around the MP400 pivot point. Once cooled, the cap fit perfectly in the bottom of an MP600 sheath. Now the sheath is protected from the pliers point with hard PVC. It should outlast the rest of the sheath. Sorry no photos.
