Gravity knives

First time I heard of these. Anyone ( :pok: Chako) has/seen a similar knife?

German paratrooper gravity knife

Never seen one in person but lusted after one as a teenager. Although they are very cool, they are made purely to be opened one handed to cut parachute cord. I've heard that once the blade is deployed there is quite a lot of blade play.

Still, very cool.

Lots and lots of blade play and crappy steel.

I think they're cool too. ;)

They are illegal (to buy carry, use...) here. But my Dad has one from back in his Army days. It is bulky, heavy and has a lot of blade play. They were made (the issued ones) by various makers, as the GAK was.
My Dad served in teh infantry, I need to ask if he bought or traded teh Gravity knife.
AFAIK yoiu can buy a legal rescue version from Eickhorn?!

My Dad owns one like this:

These types of knives have been around for a long time.I personally have never had any interest in them because I always found the autos more interesting.

I have one and it's a decent knife. Locks open tight and is a neat collector knife.

Also one of the knives specifically banned in the UK.  Along with flick knives, balisongs etc etc. :D
