Online retail shops.
on: April 21, 2016, 05:25:52 AM
Just looking for some recommendations for best prices and quality service. Also, must accept paypal! Amazon :pok: wtf, really?

Interested in purchasing a Victorinox SAK in particular, and I'm always keeping a constant eye on multi tools too.

Recommendations?

I dealt with Knifeworks once. They had very good prices on Spydercos (about 3/4 of pretty much everybody else) and they shipped quite cheap to Romania. Also they sent me editable customs documentation  ;)

Really nice to deal with, flawless products and delivery...

Do note it was just one deal... I couldn't vouch all are as smooth...

I've also had good experiences with knifeworks, very capable and nice people, and never had customs problems until this very week.
My last order is now held at customs and they want me to pay 160 Euros to let it in, otherwise it'll be returned. The order was $332, so I have to let go enough cash to order half of the items again to get them. CRAP!
My toys:

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100

SAKs: Bantam, Executive, Ambassador, Minichamp, Classic Alox, Champion, Farmer, Explorer, Swisschamp, Golf Tool, Wenger Champ, EVO 52, Pocket Tool Chest

Knifeworks does seem to have better prices by a couple bucks, but who knows they may charge more for shipping on the backend? Also the site just looks kinda janky compared to others. I may give them a shot. I'll report back too.

Shipping to the States is free: http://www.knifeworks.com/shipping-policy.aspx
Shipping to Romania was 15 USD... so half of most other sellers and slightly less than eBay sellers.

The website is indeed a bit wonky but it works. Also I didn't have much choice as shops either wouldn't send to Romania (like SMKW or Knifecenter) or were far far more expensive.

shipping is free with $99 purchase or more, so not so much for the SAKs I'm looking at. Knife center shipping was 2.95 vs. 6.95 at knifeworks for the same knife.

Thanks for that link.

So. In a quest to buy a Swiss Army knife using PayPal, as to not spend money rather use money from selling other items via PayPal.

I went to knifecenter and it looks like they don't take PayPal. Wtf?  :ahhh

And when I go to knifeworks and proceed to checkout safari gets an error... (I don't know if they take PayPal anyways)

Anyone know who does?

IIRC Knifeworks don't take PayPal because PayPal won't allow them to sell certain items.
