Cured?
on: April 27, 2016, 09:35:44 PM
Hadn't bought a multitool for months! Looking at the for sale thread over the last month, could have spent a fortune, so many good tools up for grabs. We've had Japanese PST's, original Waves, even 20 year anniversary waves. I resisted. With the money I saved from not buying just one those up for sale, I was able to buy a comprehensive tool kit for the car!
However, I don't consider myself fully cured, as I couldn't resist the chance for a Japanese PST, with Pocket Survival Tool, and hollow rivets! I'm getting there slowly...

It's a horrible addiction and some of us are afflicted worse than others. A good way to stiffle the urge is lack of funds and having other priorities lol Only thing calling me so bad I cannot stand it is an ALM Vic tool with titanium handles.

 Cured!  Medical science has been unable to cure addiction, and you belong to one of the biggest group of enablers that exists!
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

A discerning addict is still an addict!  :P

Glad to hear you are able to resist some temptation though!

You may go through stages of remission but then one day you will get the urge again and before you know it your broke and begging money at the street corner for your next MT fix :ahhh :D

It is good to slow down sometimes and reflect and actually use some of the tools we amass though ;)

Don't go telling members there's a cure.  If anyone takes it that could mean the end of the forum! :P

I'm cured. The trick is not to spend too much time here, or thinking about MTs.

I've fallen into the following habit:

- Manager during the week
- Explorer on weekends, or Spirit X when I expect to actually have to do something.

A 3-MT rotation, that is sustainable. Try it. You'll like it.

+1. In my experience, time spent on gear forums makes me want to buy stuff. If I take a hiatus, the urge to buy recedes.
