New saw in an old Explorer
on: April 29, 2016, 06:26:16 PM
So I want to make a Woodsman; I have a saw from a newer Hiker and I'm wondering if it will fit properly inside an old style Explorer.
This is the one with no parcel hook, glass mag lens, and scissors that doesn't have that little slot in the arm for the spring to sit.
 Pics for reference:

Yep, it will slip in just fine. You will need a new set of 2.5mm and 2.2 mm brass rod, as the old ones wont be reusable.

As slaughter said; it'll go in just fine.  Vic have had the same pin sizes and layout for decades.

Thanks guys. Now to find some 2.2 pin stock; attempting to sand this 2.5 down on the drill press evenly has been rather difficult
