I'll tell you what's tempting... I just saw they already made a black run of Pioneer X's for the facebook group "Victorinox Freunde" gruppe (german I guess.)

So, hopefully other retailers start getting some colors soon... red, black, green...

Okay, I've joined the group.  My new X arrived this week along with an extra silver Pioneer.  Based on comparing the weights for a couple of days, I think the new basic Pioneer will be seeing more pocket time for now.   :drink:

I do like having the scissors on the Pioneer...it's great that Vic listened to the diehards!   :tu:

I expected this to start, the X being cycled through all the variations the Farmer (and others), but not this soon...

I'm in  :D.  (I've been "in" for about three weeks, but I haven't had the time to take some pics, until now  ;)).

Here's my Pioneer X:

And here it is, posing with my new hiking boots  (I've already posted these in another topic, but I can recycle them here, right ?  ;)).

I've just read your post and already bookmarked it, I would like to see what other "modders" think of it and what problems this "flaw" could cause in the long run, thanks for pointing it out mate  :salute:.

The PX has been a good EDC model for me so far. Since I have been using the awl for most of the things I use the small blade for, and not needing a corkscrew lately, I barely miss my Climber. I also like the heavier main blade and openers on the 93's, so it's been working out well. Maybe I'll break my Explorer's record with this one, only 7 or 8 years to go!  :)

I grabbed mine the other day to open the box with the awl and as I opened it, it cut my thumb. The awl on my X is almost as sharp as the main blade.

I've had "keen" edged awls on other ALOX but not like this! It almost passes the paper test!

Hi All!

Long time lurker, owner of a Huntsman, a RangerWood 55 and a Swisstool Spirit, been looking at an Alox for a while but the RangerWood taught me to appreciate the scissors at my Huntsman for EDC, been on the fence of picking up "another" SAK (slippery slope, if the posts at this forum are any indication)

Wifey actually bought me the Pioneer X for father's day.

Pioneer X by Ztryfe, on Flickr

Need to step up my gift game with her, if I want this kind of present to repeat :D

Its sooooo good!

This may sound insane, but I got a Pioneer X probably 2 months ago and literally have not carried it once.

Perfectly normal.

I do it pretty regular.

Question. How wide is the X compared to the Farmer?
