Another bit adapter.

It's a 1/4" drive to a 1/4" hex bit adapter. Anyone have one? If so, how did you like it?

That picture is from Amazon at this link:

I also found them on the Bay by typing in the product description from Amazon.

Thanks! This is going to be in my next Amazon order. Cheap enough to test and still fail it with a clean conscious, and would be a nice upgrade to my Versadriver if it works.

Agreed.  I may have to get one as well!

You know, for legitimate testing purposes of course.

The word "legitimate" is a very loose term around me.  I am after all someone who shot up a couple dozen eggs for the fun of it not too long ago...

Mine should be here by the end of the week, and it will be getting used on the long weekend. I'll let people know.

Mine came in today. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but first impressions.

On the 1/4" stud on my Versadriver and those one a couple of extensions I carry it sits nice and secure. No wiggle.

It holds 1" long bits much more securely than the wire clip adaptor that came with my Versadriver. Longer bits that have the rounded groove around them are wobblier but only fractionally so. Since the only long bit like that I use is a drill bit that I carry for use a gimlet, that could get fixed with the dremel. Now if only I could find a 3/32" punch bit.

The ring is a hard plastic, maybe ABS or something similiar. It feels like it would be brittle, but unless you are hammering on it you should be ok but it could get stupid in very cold weather.

The spring that locks the ring forward is a little stiff, but it is also brand new. That is the one real concern I have with this- I'm not sure how long it will hold up.

I've carried my Versadriver with it's original bit holder for almost 15 years. The only upgrade I've made to it that I think is better than this, pending long term testing, was to swap the bit holder extension that came with it for a socket extension.
