That looks like an accident waiting to happen.  In fact, that's a good name for that combo- The AX-Ident!

 :D :drink:

as i carry a fiskars axe and fixed blade on belt, that kind of combo would be nice, dont take so much space either.

well,if my deal with that jre sheath works great, and i find some steel shanked nice axe, maybe its time to pair it with some leuku,in sheath like that.i wish i had better sewing machine so i could do thru thick layers of leather myself.

Looks nice... I'll try making a sheath like that. :D

Eventually.
Someday.
When I actually try my hand at leatherworking. >_>

I'm with Grant on this one, it look's to be a bit of a handful, and probably an accident waiting to happen :-\

Probably ok if you were just going to leave it in a car boot or something, but I wouldn't want to belt carry it :(

I'm kinda understanding, but not, why would you guys consider it an "accident" waiting to happen?
I'm thinking a knife next to an axe/together on you is not safe, but why? especially if it's a secure setup
if you fall? two sharpies together and the fashion police will get you? :P

I personally was thinking my CS shovel and a knife (my new Mudpuppy) would be a good combo;

a friend who makes sweet sheaths is just waiting my word.

A Kydex rig would probably be fine :), but not leather, it  age's too badly for that sorta rig imo :-\

ohh so your saying the old leather could have "penetration" problems!
well that makes sense.

Yep, and if you putting one tool back, you run the risk of your hand straying into contact with the sharp edge of the other tool :-\

ooh thats in good condition.its a shame there aint new ones made any more...i think.set like that on your belt, combined with some firesteel on side,is quite nice as a hardcore survival kit too.

I think I'd make them separate...or as lest rig it so they can be separated.

Firesteel loop in the knife sheath and a pouch on the axe sheath for a sharpener.
