Problem with OG Wave??
on: May 22, 2016, 08:39:55 PM
Recently aquired a NIB OG Wave.  I have noticed that when I attempt to open one of the outside blades the handles flex enough to allow the spines of the inside tools to rub/catch against each other causing a rather irritating snap/pop.  Not a perfect description of the issue but short of a video it's the best I can do.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it common for the OG Waves?  It's not really a bad issue but it's more annoying than anything else.  Any way to fix it?

I guess I never noticed it before but yes mine does that as well. I think it is just the way they are.

True. It's annoying but nothing to be worried about.

It's just the OG Wave is - its handles have considerably more play when opening/closing, compared to the current version.
EDC and OCD. A wicked mix.

Oh, that is nothing. My lastest OG Wave is a funny piece of work. It is supposed to be new without original packaging. The two ends of the handles are off by about 3/32" (~2.3mm), totally visible to the eyes.  ??? I can wiggle the handles to bring the offset to about 3/64" (~1.2mm). I think tightening the 5-star security screws at the pliers ends will reduce the wiggle. However, the joints are tight and proper when the pliers are deployed. I have to find the 5-star torx screws to verify my theroy.

Perhaps there's a reason they made a new Wave?
