Don't know much about Kukri other than what I read on the Kukri Owners Club and Khukuri House. Figured I'd get one for a Survival, Outdoor, Shelter Building, Beast Battler, Wood Axe, All Purpose Kukri. Does that make any sense?

So, should one wish to enter this field of Edged Tools, what version(s) come to mind as being durable and trusty for a woodsman/urban trekker type of person?

Unsure if this is an accurate depiction on how all Nepalanese Kukri are made, but wow, they really work hard in making them! :salute:

This video will demonstrate how Nepalese craftsmen make Khukuri (or Kukri) knives. These beautiful and functional knives are made using the most primitive of tools and techniques, yet have proved to be of greatest value to military as well as civilian population, worldwide.

Knives By Hand claims to have KHHI Kukri for sale at his private business at a lesser cost as he purchases in bulk. His prices are for USA and show the delivered price. They don't have a big selection though do have a few kukri to choose from - one even has a Christian cross instead of the OM symbol.

Now this one looks interesting... not a traditional Kukri but non-the-less is interesting...

:pok:    Ordered! Checked out a few reviews and videos. Decided this would be my first, along with the knife.
Chase surprised me as I use the CC for most online orders. It blocked the initial transaction and asked me to see if it was me or an attempt to steal from my account. Wow, impressed! Said it was me so had to try the transaction all over again, and it went through, with yet another conformation. :o Guess $147.33 to Nepal was serious business, not that I mind the added protection.

    13” Scourge (Apocalypse)

Liking the finish on this one found over here as opposed to the one at KHHI.

The only advice I can offer that's on par with Zed's is don't buy Windlass Steelcrafts. The one thing every kukri guy agreed on last time I researched these knives is that WS kukris are godawful unless you just want a wall hanger.

Had ordered a McKnife (McCurdy Special) & Nepalese Coin on the 24th, for $110.51 US. Think a good $27 was in shipping alone. Then got a letter saying one could save 60% on shipping if they added another kukri to the order.

Was looking at all the selections over a couple of days, but didn't know one kukri from the next so started the post here and even opened conversations with them. Somewhere along the line I found a link to something about KHHI's Zombie Apocalypse line-up (could not find the link) but now see it in the Xclusives (Ultra Modern) page.

On the 27th I amended the order with the 13” Scourge in which the shipping was only another $14 + online ordering fee & taxes added another $9, so the addition was $147ish. No where near as bad on shipping as I first thought.

So I've got $258 in on two blades. If wasn't for having two jobs there's no way I could afford it. Come back after a break and look what happens. :o

Not the same as Kampher's (which I think is a Cold Steel) but Boker Magnum do a folding kukri as well.

Rajah, I wasn't interested in Kukri until I have this folder.
If one can deal with its mass size and weight, he shall be rewarded with unmatched cutting and chopping power from a folder.

I inspected a Boker Kukri in store today.  :td:
No OHO, no pocket clip no shealth.
Weak liner lock with bad lock up even for a $20 folder.

Also there is a Cold Steel knockoff.

Citadel pocket Kukri

Quartermaster folding Kukri

I am thinking out loud here, to have any chopping power, the folder must have at least 5" of blade and a very strong lock. I know what my Rajah can do (chopped down a small tree with a couple swings), not sure about others.
