Those old E-tools lock with a spring loaded square bolt. That big "rivet" on the side is actualy the lock.
The tang of the tools and the handle socket have a square punch out that aligns aligns with the faces of the bolt. Push it from the other side and it slides part way out to disengage  and then snaps back in place when the tools are in any of the usable/stored postitons.
Verry simple and sturdy.

Thanks

I love my Rajah 2 but as many have noted, it's heavy in the pocket... Really heavy. So I'm considering a cordura belt sheath for carry. May end up making something.

Won't be as accessible for a SD APPLICATION but I use it in an outdoor mode anyhoo.

Most of de time, I tote a voyager XL for daily use.

Nailed it! :salute:
I sharpen mine and used as an axe many times, worked very well.
It is heavier than other designs since it functions so well I don't mind it.
Long handle makes it easy to use, the button allows quick and secure lock up, save a lot of time when working. I keep one in my car and another on my tact vest.

As for my wife's car, I leave the cold steel shovel there, it works well too.
I used many Soviet issued ones and destroyed one while I use it as hammer.

So my oldest son worked as a directional driller in high voltage, optic cable, water lines, very stressful job. Carried a CS Rajah 3 as his work knife.

He's directing and assisting trucks and traffic around his work area, on the asphalt one day.

Turns to walk back to his rig and hears....

KERCHUNGG, kerklunkgggg about 10 times...

Thinks to himself "WTH are they running over??""

Turned out it was his knife!!

The only thing that was damaged was the spring that activates the lock had been displaced inside the knife...aside from the expected abrasions etc.

He took the RAJAH 3 apart and put the spring right and reassembled it.

It works as fine as the day he bought it!!

Pretty tough knife.

I have a few of their cheaper items. A Bushman, a Bowie Bushman, a Finn Bear, and a Roach Belly. The Roach belly is one of my favourite knives.

First time I saw Anthony Delongis throw those things, I flipped out!

Talk about a MT!

Dig, chop wood, split kindling, self defense....

I gotta get at least 3!

That "cheap" CS STUFF usually outperforms most other "extravagant" tools by other makers!

It works better as a shovel than as a firewood maker  ;) but it's fine for chopping through roots and doing the dirty work that you don't want to ruin an axe with  :)

Thats why you get a double bit axe...one good side for the tree, the other for the stump and roots.
