Blade Exchanger Question
on: May 30, 2016, 04:26:20 AM
I'm looking at buying a used old model (non-replaceable wire cutters) Surge for $40.   I've noticed the blade exchanger on the ST300 EOD looks like the one on the Surge.

Can I use an ST300 EOD metal saw in the Surge's blade exchanger?

Secondly, can I use the Wave pocket clip on the old model Surge as well?

All t-shank blades fit in both the old and new Surge (including the ST300 EOD saw) but the BE in the old Surge will leave some wobble with standard t-shanks (the ST300EOD saw is standard sized: the wobble was fixed in the new Surge).

You could just get a normal metal saw for jigsaws, save yourself the $$$ and get an unbranded t shank

What sLaughterMed said :tu:

Also I am pretty sure that the pocket clip will work as well and is the same between all Surge, Wave and Charges  :tu:

Just to confirm what's already been said.

Any standard T-shank will work in the Surge. The old model exchanger will have some wobble. Some members have done some minor mods to the t-shanks to get them to fit better.

The pocket clip will work on any Wave, Charge or Surge model. There is some wiggle on the Surge, but again, members here have shown some fixes for it.
