I have been reading the first 3 books (currently reading no4) of Andy McNabs books about Nick Stone.
Nick seems, at least so far, to always have a Leatherman on him. He is not specific about model, but since theese books take place in the late 90's, early 2000's and he has to open it to get to the knife, Im guessing its a PST or a PST 2. 
He even mentions Jim Leatherman in book 4, and makes a comment about bad cheapo multis  "that break the first time you use it" in book 3.
He uses his Leatherman quite a lot too. :tu:

I've read Bravo Two Zero. Great book. No LM, but still a great read.  :cheers:

The Leatherman becomes a improvised weapon in " Last Light " if I remember correctly. 
I haven't read any more of Stone's wonderfully sordid adventures since " Liberation Day ".
But I enjoyed the richness of detail and vast experience in McNab's writing.
