What's a good ferre ferrocium ferrocerum fire steel rod?
Just a rod; the thinner the better.

Firesteel.com rods are rated highly and comes in different sized and thickness. I do not own one from them to personally recommend. I got a Exotac Nano Striker XL and I like it a lot. Very compact and light.

One thing to note is that they all come with a protective coating so the first few strikes might not give a good spark.

Thanks, looking up Firesteel.com and hoping they ship internationally...

Do they do just the rod (no handle)? I can't see any on their website.

Exotac has refills for all their fire starters. They have 3 different sizes.

Had a problem with the first nanoStriker, don't recall what it was anymore, but the guy sent me out a replacement ferrocerium rod + another as a spare.  :D

It looks as tho he's using magnesium in his rods. unsure if this a new thing or if he always used it. Might be why his function better.  :D :D :D

That's true I learnt how to do fractions in school at a young age and I use them quite often at work still :tu: but yes I know roughly  how big a cm is and can guage a mm as well ;)
