There are decent survival skill books for those of us in the USA, that can cover forest lands, dessert, and everything in between? Been thinking I should hone up on skills I've lost or am not very good at in case SHTF.
Still lacking a pack to throw essentials into if I have to bug out or go on a camp-out.
Can honestly say after the last camp-out, the oilskin drover's coat I had kept me warm. Sure it was a bit wet underneath, between it and the sleeping bag, yet I was
as snug as a bug in a rug! The survival blanket I bought ages ago really didn't offer much warmth, but throwing the oilskin over the sleeping bag I was quite warm - 'cept for my elbows that stuck out the edges.
An oilskin blanket might be heavy but am going to try and find me one or two.
