Hey there, gang. Here's another little project that has been an essential part of my EDC for about a year now. It is always carried with me for it can be utilized by numerous tools. I originally created it as a matching companion for my Urban Trekker, but, have used it quite often with my Crunch, Shear Evil, Brute Driver HD, my Micra and soon the Incarnate. I wanted a way to conveniently store 6 standard hex bits and a driver adapter. While it was made to be driven with another tool, I created a small prybar/driver so if need be, it could be used as a standalone driving system. The prybar has been useful for I often crack open things like small electronics. My Urban Trekker is sort of my exotic sportscar of EDC. Sometimes I like to go out in style. This kit compliments the distinguished and distinctive style of that tool.....

~ evil ~

D2 Bits milled with channel, filled with red enamel. Driver adapter socket with milled channels, polished and painted. Chrome vanadium. Hex to square adapter is also chrome vanadium.....

Hex to square adapter. Milled for spring clip. This prevents the adapter from falling out on its own.....

Underside of top half.....

Top view of bit storage. Initial shaping. Here you can see that I tried to get all of the holes as close together as possible to make it as compact as possible and not waste space. You can also see the latch which will make it snap closed.....

Bottom half of case shaped and formed. The large channel on the upper outer edge is for the latch of the top half to snap into.....

Mini pry bar and bit driver created from 1/8" thick chrome vanadium. Top view.....

Bottom view of prybar. Sweeps upwards coming to a point.....

Bit driver end. This actually took a lot of work to create and get right.....

Adapter installed. Here you can see how the spring clip retains it in the tool.....

Bottom view of adapter installed.....

With driver adapter and bit installed.....

Front face complete. Carbon fiber.....

Bits installed in case.....

Hexagonal protrusion prevents movement of prybar when stowed.....

If you look closely, there is a triangular protrusion that fits into the groove of the prybar, futher preventing any movement. When closed, the outer diameter of the adapter socket rests against the matching curve of the prybar tip, essentially locking it in place. At top middle, subtle notch on edge serves as a nailnick to open case.....

Side view of case.....

Here you can see how I made it so that when it is open, what was once a side now becomes part of the bottom, forming a flat surface. This was done to make it as thin as possible. Think old school cassette tape case. Those born into this modern generation may need to google that, lol.....

A size comparison shot with my Style EV1.....

Another view.....

Yet another view.....

I originally planned to create a lanyard attachment point. I still may at some point in the future but so far it has been working out very well being stowed in my EDC bag waiting for action.....

I really like the level of polish and personalization.

What did you use for cutting the hexagon?

Fart, lol. That made me laugh. I do things the only way that I know how. Hopefully the end result is functional while looking decent at the same time......

Fantastic work sir!! The chamfered hex on the pry bar looks perfect, really professional (not that the rest doesn't). Mind if I ask how you went about on making the bottom half? Folding and gluing perhaps?

Thank you, WWW......  :salute: Yes you are correct. I started with a wood form, cut and shaped to the inner dimensions. I bend and form with a heat gun, clamps, etc. This particular project is ABS, which bonds well by means of acetone. Certain glues bond well too but if you want invisible seams, I find the acetone method yields the best results.....

glad it made you laugh,  cause your work makes me drool.

Yep me too    :D
Thank you, Detron and Poncho... :salute: It is nice to know that your work is appreciated. I am humbled.....
