St Joseph Island Tractor Trot 2016

On St Joseph Island, there is an interesting event called the Tractor Trot. It started 20 years ago when 4 farmers decided to ride their tractors into Richards Landing for a cup of coffee. From those humble beginnings, a tradition was born. A tradition that appears year from year on Canada Day, July 1st.

This was my first visit. I am very impressed with the variety of tractors on display. The farmers drive their tractors from the Legion to downtown Richards Landing. They then turn around at the wharf and end up back at the Royal Legion, where everyone has a pancake breakfast with some famous St Joseph Island maple syrup.

I will post more photos when I have time. Here is the first batch.

It is tradition that the owner of Moose Sweats Gift Shop dresses for the occasion.

The parade is a go.

For me, this was the show stopper. The only steam tractor on parade.

Wow! Lots of cool tractor. Sadly, I have used some of those models. I agree with you Chako, the traction engines are definitely the show stoppers.
