Greetings :)
on: July 10, 2016, 08:43:43 AM
Hello there! According to my profile I registered in 2011 but never introduced myself here.   Frankly, I haven't been active much, til now I mostly read what is discussed but I think I'm directing my "not-having-a-life"ness to MTO nowadays  :D

I'm from Istanbul, Turkey and guess I'm the only one from my country here?..  I've been a multitool-fan since my childhood and owned numerous (some I lost, some I took apart, some got stolen  ) throughout the years. I'm good with hand-tools and interested in modding, though I did not do much of a modding job (yet!). I dissected some low-end, cheap multitools and for me, the spring mechanisms almost always have been hard to put back together. Maybe I'm missing the right hand-tool or technique. That is why I do not have the courage to open up my LM yet.

I liken the multitool "obsession" to shoe craze of some (all?) women :)) Some people say the same thing about tattoos, that once you have one you never get satisfied until you get another one and another one and...

BTW the awards are appealing here. I know this is not a help board but I can't help asking now that I'm posting :) "The MIDLMAN Challenge" requires "Start a new thread and post a photo of the leatherman (blast, wave or charge) for thirty (30) consecutive days." So this means that I START a thread (and not add my posts to an existing one) and post me doing something with my e.g. LM Wave every day for 30 days. Am I getting this right? It feels to me that something like this would bloat and spam the forum with a lot of not-that-informative-or-useful threads and posts, though it sure sounds like fun and  :D :D  I'd be happy to oblige.

Last but not least, I find the information (text and visual) shared on this forum incredibly valuable and I enjoy the funny cross talks and chit-chats a LOT. I even am starting to get a fear of addiction.  :multi:

Greetings.  I believe the 30 day challenges are as you describe.  Yes they bloat the forum but it doesn't seem to be a big deal.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Hi there!

Yep, the challenge threads are pretty straightforward. One pic (minimum) a day, for 30 days. Thats it!

Your city is notorious around here for it's particular kitchen style. :tu:

I sure could eat some borek or lahmacun or pide or sucuk or pastirma and some Hunkarbeyendi and kebab right now ... ::) I have no idea if these dishes are specific to one region or other but honestly I don't care  :gimme:

Well, I do love those, too. In fact you made me hungry now.  But, from what I hear from all my friends who have been to Greece, Grek meze and sea food is far more tastier than the stuff we have here :)

I don't eat seafood so I wouldn't know about that. As for meze, I'll say they are different, same as everyone's taste. What one likes some other may not like.
