Thanks David!!!  It's funny, I used to be perfectly happy with Shrade and Gerber  honesteels but now I need diamonds for everything.....I do polish some edges a bit with that big Gerber...it's worn smooth but will really finish an edge. I have one NIB but they are so high priced now, I hate to use it.

Edge pro apex is my new system. I'm still learning to use it, though don't seem to get time to lately.

I have a spiderco sharpmaker as well

A Japanese combination waterstone arrived yesterday, #1000 and #6000. The knife I started with has some really deep marks so there's lots of work getting it where I want it.

I quite like it, but the steel and ceramic rod get much more use. I was brought up with a steel (my dad's a chef) so it's second nature now. You?  :tu:

Those little pocket rods are extremely useful! I use them for a variety of things! Works great to smooth the heads on brass pins in pocket knife scales or slicking up a copper rivet that has sharp edges.
