Introduction & GAW
on: July 21, 2016, 12:50:42 AM
Hello,

I made a potential mistake in making a 1st forum post into a thread with some comments I had related to a posters question. I was made aware of forum etiquette, etc. & was asked to post a daily carry photo. I don't do pocket-dump photos, but thought I better get a quick pic & comply :-)

After posting a photo related to my daily carry, I thought maybe I should post an introductory post with those photo(s) as a hello to the forum.

So, thinking to make interesting, thought I'd double up and make into a Give-A-Way (hope not to get into trouble here with a this community ;-)

So, GAW:
1) First to post usage application of item(s) on my K2 (contained on 2mm cord) wins a free knife, customized zippo, or labor (sharpening, ano-colorization, etc.) $40+ value. Winners choice to be determined after consultation. If you choose labor on your item, you will be responsible for shipping and insurance.

2) Will run for five days (closes 7/27/16).

3) There are multiple correct answers, primary in two different usage categories. I reserve the right to determine "best" answer should someone not nail the answer. Example of a winning answer in my mind would be this tools application usage in two different categories (example a claw hammer hammers nails and it pulls nails - it constructs and deconstructs).

Hint, there's at least one significant clue in the photo(s)  ;-)

I may choose to give additional hints at my discretion, based on how this thread is received by the community.

Good luck & have some fun ;-)

Regards,

Welcome aboard!   I do have to give you a warning though - using the word "hoagie" like you did in your first post is a bannable offence.  >:D I'll let you off with a warning this time.......  ;)

SteveC,
thanks for the welcome :-)

jerseydevil,

Welcome aboard!   I do have to give you a warning though - using the word "hoagie" like you did in your first post is a bannable offence.  >:D I'll let you off with a warning this time.......  ;)

Thank you for the welcome.

But,
I am struggling to determine if that is was mouth breathing statement (aka dry humor) or ...?
Coming from a moderator, I would typically not expect humor combined with a threat of being banned along with a warning, related to a statement in an alternate thread.
Perhaps you could help to shed light onto my ignorance with a bit more of an explanation?

Perhaps it's a regional thing ...?
I could understand if I had used the term "cheesesteak".

Help a brother out here, I'm from the PacNW where we are a little green behind the ..., well ..., everywhere ;-)
(and for those reading there's another clue :-)

Just joking. :) Here in New Jersey, sub vs hoagie is a common fight. Here in civilization, North Jersey, we're influenced by NYC (I can see Staten Island from the end of my block).  It's a sub.  Down in the sticks of South Jersey ;), they're influenced by Philadelphia, and call it a hoagie. They are incorrect.

Starting to "think" maybe I might fit in ... as I like a Sub, enjoy a Hoagie, prefer a Grinder, and love a Cheesesteak because of their variety.
Almost kinda sounds like there are peep's in this world who don't know the differences ...?
I suppose that is because many us us our governed by our immediate surroundings.  :ahhh
Good or bad, I have lived East, West, North, South and choose to live where opinions are less important than just enjoying the food

So far, there appears to be a lot of "tools" on this site  :climber:
I hope not to offend too many, too soon and worry little for those that are

And to further the relevant discussion of the thread, you can get north of the City and have people calling it a wedge.

Oh well. Welcome to the forum spey!

sLaughterMed,
Yes, everything "can" disassemble. I really don't think could "serve as diving weights", but I suppose they could be filled with small pebbles & used a fishing weights in a need-be situ. Thanks for the idea, but not a winning combination (also not part of what I would consider the correct answer - as the correct answer would relate to the original design usage of this tool(s)), and your answer does not fall into either of the two usage categories.
More than one try should be ok, per the minimalistic rules I posted  ;)

Grathr,  :pok:
There's some semi correct answers in your post. However, at this point I would have to request that you narrow down your "wild guess" more specifically. It may also help for you to re-read my OP, as I believe your wild guess relates to the broad picture, as opposed to the referenced question.

I'm gonna be honest here and say I don't understand the question :D

But there's a mech-mod with a tank and looks to be some sort of regulated mod with a dripper there, a couple of bottles of e-liquid all for the purpose of vaping.

I've no idea if I've answered the question though, so please do ignore me if its easiest :D

I used to come here a lot.

The K2 is the knife?

The only thing I can think of it in relation to your vaping hobby is peeling or cutting through seals.

In relation to motorcycling, I suppose it could be any number of "knifey" things.

You also seem to like paracord- so cutting that.

Or shooting - so you might use it for hunting, or making targets, or when reloading.

*shrug*

I'm not even sure if my premise is correct, much less my conclusions

I think so?...

Empty cases....

using as a whistle? you've put lenses into them to make teeny-tiny looking glasses?

Do you take them off the string to use them?
Use as a handle for something?

They've got the bit of wire? I think someone mentioned using it for cleaning out smoking apparatus....

I can't imagine using them to smoke anything, it'd give an odd taste.

It protects the cord from being worn/cut from rubbing and provides a buffer for the surface of the K2.

Welcome aboard!

As per the question, I'd say you use it to carry bit drivers and also to use has a handle to use those same bits.

They could also be used to remove pebbles from the tire grooves.

Welcome Spey!

I'm guessing that your gadget is used for one-hitters. The wire loop is used for cleaning the pipe.

I have no experience with smoking or its related gadgetry, so I have no idea if I'm embarrassing myself.

I'm gonna be honest here and say I don't understand the question :D

I believe Spey is referring to the shell casings and wire loop on his Spyderco C2 knife.
