Saw mod for MP600
on: July 27, 2016, 06:29:20 PM
I used a SOG saw blade that Poncho sent me and reprofiled it to fit my MP600. I removed the lanyard holder to make room. Fits great and locks perfectly.Finished it off by coating it with with dry spray graphite to match the BO coating.

Thanks again Poncho for the blade

Glad I could help and will get some pics up of my mod as well :D

The BO simulated finish looks as good as the real

It worked really well as the pivot size was the same and also the round portion at the butt end was as well. That spray graphite works awesome. It's holding up really well on my ST 300 plier head. It probably will wear off quickly on the saw but it looks great for now.

When it does wear off it will only take a min to make it look like new again though

With light use it's holding up pretty good. I don't think it will hold up to heavier use especially if cutting green wood. The pliers on my ST300 that I sprayed are holding up good as well.

Where did you get the graphite spray BTW  I think I might pick a can of it up and touch-up a few things

I got it at Home depot . The trick is to degrease the surface really well before spraying. I also heated up the surface with a hair dryer, I think it helped with the bond.

Thank you Sir :tu: Yes I'd say the heat did help adhere it better

Nice work Steve :hatsoff:

I was modding some Gerbers earlier today, and wishing I'd got a spare saw blade. I may need to try this at some point
