Day 17 Friday
New fence means a stack of old weathered wood for a beauty shot. That is if my photography skills could be called Beauty shots.
The finger is an added bonus.

Day18 Saturday
A co-worker of mine brought me a new toy for my collection; A lightly used CRKT Hole-in-One.

So what better way to show it than nest to the SAK in today's pic.

This thing had probably the worst bur I have ever seen. It was a complete wire edge that had rolled over. Fortunately it came off with the just a couple passes with a piece of carbide.

Day 19 Sunday
Paper towel jam, this sounds like a job for the fish scaler.
Really I just need something pokey enough that wouldnt poke through or cut the rubber band belts inside the machine and had teeth to grip, hook and pull with.

Day 21 Tuesday
Another project; this one is a spot finder. I am sure there is a technical term for a protractor sight for doing triangulation but I just call it a spot finder.
The basic idea is that the board has angles marked from the back, in this case in 5deg intervals; a front sight; and two armatures with sights attached to the rear origon point using a pin that acts as a rear sight.
You line up the front and rear sight with an object then without moving the device swing the arms so each lines up from rear sight and arm sight and gives an angle reading. Now you have 3 points of refrence to find where you are standing again.
Coupled with either a range finder or compass and you can make a diecent feature map. The more sight lines you refrence the more accurate you can be.

Unfortunately this one is not finished. It still needs front and rear sight pins/screws, and assembled. There are extra lines originated from the front too, these were a mistake that are now just decorative. The last pic is a mock up with some screws I had lying around, but hopefully you get the idea.

I'm using the hook to twist mechanics wire to make the arms. They can be made of anything really, but I had a ton of this thin wire lying around.  I remembered how the wire warp holders in the heads of my mother's loom were twisted and thought I'd try it for this.

Day 24 Friday
Most people have one tool on a large SAK they just cant find a use for.  For many it is the scaler or hook; in my case its the chisel. Almost anything I can think of to do with the chisel can be done with the knife. Mabey I'm just not that imaginative.
So here it is stuck in a bottle of wood glue I was trying to unclog.
Too bad it turned out the glue was no longer fully liquid, and no amount of un-clogging could help it. Good thing I keep an old butter knife hanging around to spread stuff with, so I still got my work done.

These paracord bundles in my EDC bag tend to lossen up over time. The hook is perfect for tightening  the wraps without having to completely redo them.

Day 26 Sunday
I decided to make myself a new lanyard the problem is I misjudged the length.
the new one hangs at my foot not my knee guess I'll still be using the old one.
Yes my sak is in the photo way at the bottom of my foot that little tiny red dot.

The lanyard in the picture above was made using a simple finger crochet method that I learned as a kid to make garland at the holidays. This is also the same not work that is used for the CRKT quick-release bracelet that I won in the Battleship game.
The only difference between the two is that for garland  leave it loose and lacey; when making the lanyard or the bracelet you form each loop, then pull the previous Loop tight locking them all together.
It's a fairly simple knot technique of just passing one Loop through the next and then tightening them down. This will unravel with a quick pull if it is not tied off or if you cut the end off.
Start of this whole knot work is out is by tying a knot in the center point of your line or in this case passing it through a buckle. The buckle in the photos is the eye of a size 1 fishing swivel ,but I didn't like how it was on the line so I cut it off after putting a small link in it's place after lanyard was finished.

Day 28 Tuesday
for Tactical Tuesday I'm cleaning up the plastic molding flash on a cheap, wannabe, tacticool knock off of a Bear Grylls fire starter.

While this is a better tool overall in its design and feature count in my opinion; it fails in the form of its original function and that is fire starting. The "Ferro Rod" is actually a little teeny 1/8in dia Ferro Rod set into a large block of magnesium that has been painted black to look like a Ferro rod.

Day 4 Monday
LaborDay
a day off, but only if you work in an office or gov; evreyone wants to sell you a mattress or appliances; used to mark the end of summer with bbq, but now is just a big " honey do list" kind of day.
How times change, or at least our perception of them.

In my case I had to brace the back of one of my wifes art projects. She tried painting on a sheet of 1/4 in plywood I had lying around, but the paint curled the board when it dried. So I had to brace the back without damaging the painting on the front.

Day5 Tuesday

Now that the holiday weekend is over I can get my mail
 :mail:
Today I recieved a lot of 3 ToolLogic Survival2, why do you always meed a knife to get a knife.
 Stupid blister pack :viking:

There is one problem....they are marked wrong. The front ink is for SVC1 not 2, so they were packed and sold as 1s. Evreything else is correct on them, so I have no doubt this is just a factory error. I didn't even notice until I started playing with it.

The pics include a comparison of SVC2, Vic Quatro, and some cheep knock off of the origonal TL card that is ridiculous compared to real ones I've had

After some poking around on ebay I found that there is a fake of the SVC2  with no markings. I dont know about the packing it comes in.

Mine was purchased from a domestic sporting goods seller, but that doesnt mean a thing.
The quality is on par with my nephew's base style Companion.

Not saying it is fake; to be honest I really cant tell on this one.
I just thought to add this concidering the Mako Counterfeit that I just posted in the keyring & OPT board
